Community Housing Advice Partnership
The Community Housing Advice Partnership (CHAP) is a joint initiative between Housing Rights, Advice NI and Citizens Advice Northern Ireland. Member organisations can speak to 2 dedicated housing advisers in Housing Rights who provide support and representation on complex housing matters that generalist advisers may not feel equipped to deal with. Where necessary, case referrals can be made to the CHAP advisers who will try to resolve your client's housing problem.
Our CHAP advisers can also provide basic advice to non-member voluntary and community agencies but can't take referrals from non members.
Tenant Debt Advice Service
Housing associations can join our Tenant Debt Advice Service (TDAS). Housing Associations that have signed up to the service can refer tenants who are in arrears to our adviser for specialist debt advice and assistance. Our adviser, Elaine, can identify benefits that tenants may be entitled to and can help sort out housing benefit problems. Elaine will work closely with your tenants to address any arrears and help tenants get to grips with their debt problems.

Events & Training
We hold regular training courses and seminars to make you and your colleagues are kept up to date with the latest developments. As well as our public programme of events we can offer tailored versions of our courses at our premises or yours to organisations who want to ensure that all their staff are informed about particular housing issues.
We develop our training programme with your needs and current housing developments in mind. Our specialist advisers are involved in developing every course so you know that both the theory and the practice of the course subject matter will be dealt with.
Our training courses aren't the only way we inform other housing agencies and professionals about forthcoming change. We also regularly hold events and seminars highlighting housing issues that are of particular interest or relevance.
