Anti-social behaviour consultation response

Housing Rights response to the Department of Justice and Department of Communities consultation on proposals to amend the legislation to help tackle antisocial behaviour.

March 2024

We have responded to the Department of Justice and Department of Communities consultation on proposals to amend the legislation to help tackle antisocial behaviour.

Our response to the proposals outlined in this consultation is informed by:

  • an evidence backed belief that access to a safe and stable home can reduce circumstances arising that might lead to antisocial behaviour or crime
  • our experience with people housing in need who have experienced antisocial behaviour from both sides

We believe the proposals contained in the consultation document to be unnecessary, unjustified and unjustifiable.
